Over the River and Through the Wood by Lydia Maria Child and illustrated by Brinton Turkle
There are dozens of versions of this book, get the one illustrated by Turkle. I found the best deal on Half.com
My mom used to read this to us and I would just pore over the pictures -- they are gorgeous!
The pages alternate from beautiful color of family coming to visit and black and white of Grandma & Grandpa getting ready for everyone with the complete words from the song:

Oddly enough, I purchased Turkey Trouble from Amazon yesterday. I think my daughter would like Thanksgiving Rules, I just placed a hold at my library.
