Hello there! Every year, I love to visit the Utah Valley Parade of Homes with my mom and sister. Amazing homes, great ideas, so fun to see talent and new design trends. It’s tradition that I feature a favorite home here – you can see 2014 and 2015 here.
One of my favorites this year was the Clarkson by Summit Construction. The design was by Crystal Hintz from Design Hintz she did an outstanding job – everything was so well thought out and she was super nice and fun to talk to and had sources for everything! Osmond Designs did the furniture and decor – I loved it all!

Here is the floor plan that I love that they provide so as you see the pictures, you can imagine how it fits.
The door took main stage –-I love the curve, the wood, the seeded glass.
A lovely formal piano/sitting room was right off the entry:
And then you came into the open family room
and on into an open kitchen with DARK wood. I was kind of sick of seeing white kitchens everywhere and in this home I couldn’t believe how well the dark worked with all of the natural light and white around it.
This part looked like a custom furniture piece and lightened everything up while tying in the dark stained wood counter top.
Another feature I loved: the cabinets that were really a door that opened up to a huge pantry:
Look at that storage and countertop space! And there was also a spot for an extra fridge/freezer.
The dining area was right off of the kitchen
And just beyond that is a craft / laundry room. Love those red lights!
and have you ever seen a wrapping paper drawer?? Great ideas.
It went out the other way to the mudroom by the garage door
and then to a hallway bath in periwinkle. I don’t usually love purple but this was really adorable with the matching periwinkle rectangle border.
A guest bedroom with
it’s own bathroom.
Now lets head to the other side to the gorgeous, serene master suite.
♥ the transom windows throughout!
But they brought the dark wood back into the master bathroom
This is already a really long post, so next post we’ll head downstairs…
