In honor of the first day of December, I wanted to share a family tradition:
a countdown to Christmas with books.
We love Christmas books and love reading them together. I wrap 25 books and number them, and each night we unwrap a book and read it together. Some are funny, some are silly, some are classics, and some are so touching they make me cry every time. It doesn't matter if we get back home super late or how crazy the day has been, it's just a great way to quietly finish each of the nights before Christmas. Plus, what a great incentive for getting teeth brushed and jammies on quickly so we can unwrap a book! :)
On Christmas Eve you can unwrap the scriptures to read the accounts of Christ's birth.

I'm moving up... To make this edition, I stepped up from the Dollar Tree to the likes of Michaels, Hob Lob, and Walmart. I know, I know....you probably won't even be able to read a snobby blog like this anymore.
I wanted to make this one big and beautiful...as a gift for a friend that had us over for Thanksgiving and that has been so good to me since we've moved here.

This is a good one, they are $2 more than last year, but I'll keep you alerted if I see them drop anymore.
$6 each, free shipping, free personalization!
I like to personalize them with the year and put a family picture inside to hang on the tree. I'm loving those circle ones too! ^
