It’s tradition! I included our cards for this year and a link to download at the end:)
I made up a list of all the chores my kids help me do. Walk through your house and see what you would like done. Maybe you want dusting to happen at least once a week. Maybe your glass screen doors are covered in fingerprints like mine. Maybe everyone's shoe baskets are spilling into each others and you need to organize them and distribute them to the rooms. Or better yet, why couldn't your kids organize them?
I broke.
I joined Pinterest.
I thought it was just another time sucker, look what you “need” (but you don’t really need) type thing, but then I realized I’m already doing it. When I see a picture I love or something I want to try, I right click on it, and then save it in an inspiration folder on my computer. Now, it’s even faster: you just click on the “pin it” button on your toolbar (they will lead you through it when you join) and you can save it in a folder on your pinterest. And you’re done.
I’m loving it….
I really, really wanted a schoolhouse light above the kitchen sink. Of course, I didn’t want to pay a lot either. And for some reason, schoolhouse fixtures are e.x.p.e.n.s.i.v.e. So, I remembered seeing this DIY fixture from Gus & Lula, and the wheels started turning.
We just had a regular old can light above the sink, so I got a light adaptor kit from Home Decorators with a coupon, so around $30.
Our kitchen has a nifty little shelf above the kitchen windows. The previous owners had some stencil action going on up there, but we were ready for something different.
We had a little beadboard wallpaper left from this project and this project. Man, have we gotten our mileage from that roll!
