favorite home from parade of homes

02 July 2014

Happy July, 320 Sycamore readers! Last week, I went with my sister in law Kristine to some homes in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes. I love visiting the homes for great ideas and inspiration. I wanted to share my favorite home with you – I literally loved almost everything about it. It was by Raykon Construction and so tastefully done and well thought out, I wanted to share it with you:
For many past parade of homes, I’ve loved the inside but wasn’t crazy about the outside. Not on this one, I loved the exterior presence as you drove up:

A front room with some beautiful architecture and a faint wallpaper that I thought was perfect:living room chairs

The main family room was gorgeous. Traditional with a hint of modern on those streamlined shelves:family room

Beautiful architectural touches everywhere:

The family room opened to an open dining and kitchen. It was interesting to see a mixed wood kitchen with the darker wood and the white – I wasn’t sure if that was something that had gone by the wayside, but it definitely worked here:

The door past the fridge looked like cabinets, but it opened up into a pantry behind, kitchen pantry

allowing the fridge to be flush with everything else --- love that idea!pantry

It opened up to a patio that had a fireplace with the same stone as the front of the house.outside fireplace

The floors were beautiful as well – they were called Alta Vista Historic Walnutjune 2014 014

I loved the mudroom with the lockers:mudroom

Double washers and dryers are not a bad idea when you have lots of kids:

The architect did a fantastic job of taking advantage of hallways and corners for storage:

I was in love with the neutral backdrop with fun pops of color everywhere in the accessories:kids room colors

a secret little play area you could crawl into:

Fun bedrooms:

The basement family room was so fun:downstairs family room

with a crazy big storage room:food storage

The basement bathroom was also smart with a separate toilet and shower area, with the vanity area on the right.

It was a total of about 8,000 square feet and the builder said it was approximately $94 a sq ft which equals $752k, plus the lot, I would guess about a $900k home. It was beautiful though! Thanks for coming along with me – I’ll share some more features of other homes!

  7. Love the interior features! The mud room lockers are fantastic, and I am smitten with that laundry room too - two sets of stackable washers and dryers - brilliant! And that storage room - swooning. ;-)

  9. I attended the parade of homes as well this year. Something I noticed is that Osmond seems to have cornered or have the in with all the builders, most of them seemed to be decorated by them. I was really hoping to see something AMAZING or POP out at me. Maybe my expectations were to high. By the way, this home was one of my favorites as well.
