I had 2 $20 giftcards that I was saving for this past weekend, when Target is known for having great clearance in the home departments. One was from my sweet husband in my stocking at Christmas, and the other from a friend who gives a gift card to a mom when she has a baby to buy something just for herself. It was a perfect gift~thanks, Suzanne!
Those little red-orange tags just make my heart do a little flip-flop, especially when they are 75% or more off. Now, these aren't yard sale prices, but we're in a yard sale drought right now, so this is how I'm getting my little bargain highs:
Shoes: $9.98
First of all, thanks for all of the comments on my sugar cookie mishap. Who needs a therapist when you've got understanding blogging friends who've all been there, done that? Thank you.
I had a great little trip to Target this weekend~they had their "2009 home" line (used to be Global Bazaar) for 75% off, and a lot of their bedding, linens, shower curtains, etc. were also 75% off, so be sure to take a look if you head out. I had some gift cards burning holes in my pockets that I went to town with.
Here is something everyone should have at your store, since they just put them out~these sweet bird statues back in the garden department. They are only $4.99 and just add a perfect touch of spring where you need it. I love the simpleness of them, yet they are good size and heavy. This should be the price everywhere, since it is advertised on the Target website as well. The chunky blue-gray frame was on clearance for $3.24 at my store.

I'm ready to break out spring decor~anyone else??

I'll show you some more of my finds tomorrow~we're having a regular old Monday since neither my kids or husband have today off. What's up with not honoring George and Abe for Presidents Day?
Happy Monday!
I was walking past these cookies this week at the grocery store, remembering I had signed up to send cookies to my oldest daughter's class Valentine party today.

I almost picked them up to put in my cart, and then I thought, no, it's tradition to make sugar cookies for Valentines. It will be a fun time with the kids, it will make an awesome blog post, especially for Julia's Hooked on Valentines friday party. Beautiful cookies, a few pictures of the kids delightfully helping, can't wait!
Remember the empty frame I found at a yard sale over the summer for $2 that used to have a mirror in it? (on the floor)
It also got a makeover last weekend with some of the leftover cork from the ugly bulletin board, a new coat of black, and some fun green print fabric:

You can create a font in your own handwriting~for free!
Go to http://www.yourfonts.com/ and it will lead you right through it. You'll need a printer and a scanner. The thing that took the longest was filling out the template~I was trying to get it perfect and spent forever. I added some little symbols on the bottom too.

How fun to be able to use your own handwriting on the computer for scrapbooking, address labels, little notes, lists, letters...the possibilities!
And look at the bottom of the post~there is my name in my own handwriting!
To add your signature to your blog, you'll have to use your new font to write your signature in a photo editing program, then host it on a site like photobucket.com or flickr.
Then, follow the instructions on this little tutorial here.
Have fun!
I had sick kids again this weekend, so it wasn't the weekend to tackle our bathroom, but I had major cabin fever, so I did sneak out to the garage to work on a few bulletin boards:
I found this chunky frame with a velvet lining at a yard sale over this summer.

Here's a big old stained bulletin board that I got for .50~I cut out a piece to fit behind the frame,

What a great week with a free photo book and the awesome posts by Susan!
I wanted to start the weekend by sharing some finds brimming with red/ valentine goodness throughout blogland this week:
Do you remember this lovely light from my master bath (that I'm supposed to be working on??)
