It all started with this:
This truck was parked across the street and I loved colors all together here. And my wheels started turning.

There was nothing wrong with our garage: it was white, with classic sunburst inserts in the windows.

Until a baseball went through one and we had (forgot to take a picture!) a big old hole for awhile. I checked on getting a new insert and was told I had to buy them in a set….
Door details! First off, I need to tell you that I did this while my husband was off having (fun?) with the boy scouts on a 50 mile hike. I like to do these types of projects while he’s gone because sometimes questions come up like, “do we really want to get rid of the screen door?” or “the lights work fine, what’s wrong with them?”
Our front door was ho-hum. Whatever. Meeah. You don’t really want to come in.
The screen did nothing for it, and the handles were opposite on the doors:
Instead of a quote on the chalkboard for summer, we put our summer list up (because we loved meg’s!)
It’s raining here today, so we’re going to check off 2 and ride the city bus to the library. My kids LOVE the bus. I can’t believe how fast June is going! We’ve got lots to pack in before August 17, and as you can see from our list, lots of quality time in the car… There are blank spots because “sometimes you think of fun things later before first grade or something” (Logan)
What’s on your summer list? Do you think we’re crazy for driving 4,400 miles with 5 kids?? I kind of do.
Here is my summer piano top: the only real changes are the ferns (from Michaels) in the buckets and the lanterns from Lowes…
