I've had some good luck at yard sales the past few weekends! Here are some finds~do you see potential in these or just junk??

I believe the correct term is ramekin, but we prefer "the little cups" in this house. These are the best little gems...we use them for everything! When you just want a smidgen of something, these are perfect. I feel so much better about ice cream when I eat it out of one of these. We use them for watercolor painting. When we have peaches, applesauce, or jello with dinner, they keep everything from mixing together. Who likes applesauce running into chicken nuggets?? yuck. Okay, my one and a half year old does. But the rest of my kids will make horrid faces and do that uu-uh-uu-uh-uh and rock back and forth and push the plate away if this happens. Please tell me this happens in other households. Thank you, little cup for saving us from these episodes. I know there are great recipes that you can bake in these also. Can't say that I have tried any, but I know there are some out there~like creme brulee?? They are dishwasher, oven and microwave safe. The best part?
Can I say that now that we have been in Texas over a year? :) Happy First Day of Autumn! I decided to bring fall/Halloween to the front porch on Friday.
I thought my fall decorating fun from the Dollar Tree was over, until I found this cute, cheap project from Joy. She is queen of brilliant beautifulness from the dollar store and spray paint~go check her out! Another blog to fall in love with and follow...
So, back to my Dollar Tree I went to get those frames with 3 openings. Joy printed hers on copied newspaper, but I don't have a copier, so I just printed onto some fall scrapbook paper. I used "Jackinput" font at 236 size.

So, the Nester has been talking about fake flowers, plants, etc. for the last week and today is having a P.O.O.P.I.E party (People Opposing Objectionable Pretend plants In the Environment) I've heard Nate on Oprah say fakes are a no-no, and on HGTV they just featured the Top 25 decorating mistakes and guess what #1 was?? Using Fake Flowers. Well, I don't think I have any flowers, but I am such an offender! I have a ton of fake stuff in my house, and as I was looking, I think I have a berry obsession that I may need an intervention with. Yesterday and today have been cool and in the 60's, so I broke out the fall stuff! Let's take a look at my fakes, scattered with a few real.

I haven't started decorating for fall yet..it just doesn't seem quite right in 80 and 90 degree weather! I'm sure I'll get the urge in the next few weeks. I love the smells of autumn though. It's the smell of things baking in the oven again, leaves burning outside, crock pots simmering something yummy for dinner, cinnamon, apples, pumpkin, cider, spices. Yum! My favorite candle in the world is Salt City Pumpkin Spice. I burn it all year around, but it's a bit pricey.

I love Saturday mornings in the fall...because they mean yard sales! The air is cool, the sun is coming up, there is hardly any traffic, and there is the excited anticipation of what you might find as you venture out. The kids are still sleeping, I've got my little route all ready to go, and my change in my pocket. I have some areas that I love to go to~they are older homes, but great neighborhoods and have the best stuff! The first 2 are bombs, but the next two are great. Here are some of my treasures:
