I will always second guess our decision to go with granite countertops when we re-modeled our kitchen. I love them, but it was a big chunk of our allowance, and I often wonder if we should have gotten less expensive countertops and invested the money in another part of our home. I guess we will find out when we sell if it was worth it or not. Anyway! I love the Method brand countertop/granite cleaner, but it's a small bottle and at $4+ a pop, it would be pricey to keep up with. Soooo, about 6 month ago, I googled it and did a little research of what is in it and how to make your own, and here is what I've come up with that works for me:
Take a spray bottle,
Take a spray bottle, fill it about 1/8th full with rubbing alcohol,
add a drop of Dawn dishwashing soap,
a few drops of scented oil (optional, but makes it smell so good),
fill the rest of the way with water, shake together, and you're good to go! It makes your granite (or any countertop) shine and feel so smooth at a fraction of the price~I have loved it and use it on my appliances as well.

I went to the mailbox on Friday and guess what was there?
Remember the free Martha Stewart subscription (sorry~promo is over)that we worried would never come~
it CAME!
Did yours??
Feb, March, and April all came together~yay! Such a fun surprise to get in the mail....
And then, today I found these sweet little gems in my mailbox~I won my very first giveaway! Yea!
Rachel over at Made with Love and Glue makes these pressed peony pins and they are the cutest things ever. I won one, and then couldn't decide on just one, so I had to buy 2 more. I love them~her color combinations are perfection and they're only$6.50 each, or three for $15. Here is the link to her Etsy shop You'll love her blog as well.
I put this one on my denim jacket:
One on my purse:
And my daughter stole one and put it on her jacket:
Don't you love them? Thanks, Rachel!
So, now I'm like Martha~finding good things, and sharing them. And now I have her magazine to give me more crazy ideas and pressed peonies to make me feel cute and springy. I love good mail days...
Remember JoAnn, the giveaway winner ? She got her package ~go see what she did with her bathroom:

Look at Karyn's box and table makeover!

Here are Tricia Anne's made-over bunnies:
And I love what Christina did with a $5 table she got at a yard sale:I may just turn this into a regular feature~send me your way if you've got something great!
Happy Monday~

Happy Friday, everyone! Have you heard of Pandora? Coolest website~my husband showed me last week. It's basically an internet radio station you create by helping you find music you love. I just found out I love Paul Cardall, so I just changed up the music a bit on here. You can push play below if you want to hear.
I just wanted to say thanks for your patience~if you email or leave a comment asking a question, I do my best to get back with you during naptime or at night, so bear with me. I would love to spend more time visiting all of your blogs as well, but I'm really trying to limit my time on the computer. I don't want to have any regrets about this and I have a sneaking suspicion that in 20 years I won't be saying, "I wish I had blogged more..." I just keep reminding myself that these are years with my kids I can never take back. Don't we all struggle with the whole balance issue?

That being said, I know this blog would be nothing without you. So, whether you are a lurker or one who faithfully comments on every post, can I just say thank you?
Have a wonderful weekend~
Have you seen these little gems at the Dollar Tree? Mine had a ton of them and so did my friend's, so I'm guessing yours will too. They are a 4 pack of these mesh bags that are perfect for containing random things throughout the house. So far, I've used them for odd socks, bath toys, and leap frog fridge magnets. I stashed a pack in the car as well and have used them when we went cotton picking and to put my son's wet clothes in when he spilled a sonic slush all over himself. Works for me~

I'm sure there 101 more useful ways to use them~have you used these or can you think of a great use for these? I just have a feeling they are brimming with more potential wonderfulness.
Oh, and speaking of cotton, some of you have asked if you can buy some. Email me at lissylee@hotmail.com if you're interested and I'll get back with you.
Happy Wednesday!
