Exactly one year ago I put a call out for any spare license plates…so it’s about time this wall is finished!
This is it, folks! I can’t believe I am about to say:
we have all 50 license plates!!
I never dreamed I would be able to collect all 50…my goal was 20 to begin with! I am truly amazed at the generosity and kindness out there. We’re trying to figure out how to put them up, PLUS we have Lauren’s room and the kitchen we’re working on, but I am so itching to ditch everything and just put them up.
Julie from Metamorphosis & Marshmallow fluff sent Louisiana:
If you are wondering what on earth all this license plate talk is about, see here.
The Land of Enchanment comes from Lorena. She was so sweet to send it even with a health scare with her son.
We got 2 Tennessee plates!! Karla was so kind to send us this one:
and Brenda from Chattanooga sent us this one
Heather sent us Vermont! Her blog, Decor 4 Poor, has some great ideas:
I love what she did with an old record cabinet:
My heart was touched when Tiffanie sent me the New York plate and the story of her husband, Mike. He is 25 years old and has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. He serves our country in the Army National Guard and as a Grand Island volunteer firefighter. Tiffanie let me know that the doctors have found a bone marrow donor for Mike and his transplant is scheduled for November 13—tomorrow! You can read their story and make a donation here , and I am asking all of you wonderful readers to keep Mike in your prayers as he goes in for his transplant tomorrow.
Thank you again, Tiffanie for the plate and for sharing your story with us~we’ll be thinking of you both tomorrow!
We have a fabulous guest today. Laura Cochran Moffat of LPC Interiors sent me South Carolina and agreed to share some things she loves about her beautiful state. Take it away, Laura!
We received Iowa in the mail and I was thrilled when Sarah agreed to guest post on what she loves about Iowa.Enjoy!~Melissa
Oklahoma came from Lisa at BLJ Graves Studio. She’s also in the middle of a kitchen makeover at her blog and has a lovely Etsy shop.

This vintage blue Connecticut plate literally took my breath away. Isn’t it beautiful?? Thank you, Stephanie Wright! (loved the card too)
Tami is an interior designer in Michigan and sent us this plate. She said, “I did the license plate idea for my son years ago. We have since moved.. and left them all in his old room ... or I could have helped you out with a lot!” Thanks, Tami! I would have loved to see his room…
