I *love* little projects like these -- not a lot of money, quick satisfaction, only about an hour of time. And then you want to organize everything else in the house!
Our poor hall closet needed some help -- we’ve been shoving odds and ends and I-don’t-know-what-to-do-with-it-things in it since we moved in. Cords, flashlights, phone boxes, tape, pillowcases, file folders, you name it, it was in there.

I think uniform containers can make anything look organized. Cue these bins from the dollar tree! $1 in square or rectangle, perfect for corraling and hiding all of this.
I emptied everything out, divided it up, threw out a bunch, and made some labels out of white cardstock and clear packing tape.
A huge difference! Sometimes I open the door just to look at it when I walk by :)
Happy Organizing!

Have a lovely weekend!
1. a place to store treasures: a box under the bed, a drawer, a basket that is just for them: no one will touch it and they can bring out their inner pack rat. We usually clean these out after Christmas and sometime in the summer. If they begin to smell, you better find out what’s in there now.
2. a place for books. Use baskets, shelves, racks, bins, ikea spice racks. Books are a must and create the best bedtime bonding.
3. a place to pin stuff up: we love every child to have a bulletin board so they don’t put a million holes in the walls. Hang them behind the door, in a closet, above a desk. A place where they can hang pictures, programs, artwork. In the boys’ room they are in a closet:
4. a spot for dirty laundry: our basket is by the closet.
5. Hooks behind the door for robes, hats, coats.
Here are some other organizing tips for small spaces
and also for toy closets.
Since I’m the queen of organizing :) ha! I’m not, but just some things that have worked for me. What about you -- any great tips for organization in kids’ rooms?

Have a beautiful Easter weekend! ♥

Hello! I am excited to share a book *I love*. It is called Love the Home You Have by the wonderful Melissa Michaels of the Inspired Room. I have read LOTS of home books and wondered how much more there is to say? But I looked forward to reading this every night and felt like I got LOTS of new ideas and helped calm my disappointment with my never ending home to do list.
Hello! Welcome to our spring front porch. :) The chalkboard is from this print using my handy overhead projector. The little chicks and bunnies are from past years.
A day early because we have a long weekend here! Hooray :)
I feel like I begin all posts with “do you remember… “ and here I go again! Do you remember the clearance striped duvet covers at Target that I got to copy my sister? Go here to see what I’m talking about. Anyway, I am FINALLY doing something with them. They weren’t quite long enough, so I took the king size, cut it in half,
Hello! Today I'm helping celebrate something really exciting! If you haven't heard already,
Groopdealz is now Eleventh Avenue - and there's SO much to love! Do you all know Shelley from House of Smith’s? She has been a guest here before, and I love her eye for all things home and fashion. She is now the creative director at Eleventh Avenue and so you know it’s going to be good!

Here is the scoop:
We needed book solutions for the boys’ room! I adore children’s books and they are really hard for me to get rid of, maybe because they bring so many happy, comforting memories of my parents and teachers reading to me and also reading at night with my own kids.
